Rough Sawn Pine Lumber
The raw material, Pine logs (Pinus elliottis and Pinus taeda), comes from over 55.000 hectares of land for Pine plantation forests owned and managed by Berneck. The production process starts with the preparation of the pine seedlings to the forest management and to the final production itself.
Located in Araucária (PR) in the south region of Brazil, Berneck’s sawmill is strategically placed close to its raw-material resources and main ports in the country.
In August of 2007 Berneck started a new sawmill with a high productivity and top technology that was imported from Canada and Germany, amongst other countries who are leaders in these machineries. The new production line has tridimensional optic scanners that visualize each log digitally with high definition for a superior cutting plan, band saw for better recovery and precision, guided gang edger, high precision kilns along with other high technology equipments.
All our sawn lumber is dried and heat treated in kilns to avoid the dissemination of pests. We have obtained the KD-HT "Kiln Dried – Heat Treated" label from IPPC (International Plant Protection Convention) for all of our wood packaging material, under the record No. BR PR – 265, required by ISPM No. 15 (International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15). |
