About us
We are the brand of wood
We are a large living forest, cultivated for three generations and nurtured by values disseminated from father to son. We started in 1952 and, over time, we expanded our operations and added other stages of the wood production chain such as planting, cultivation until we reached the reconstituted panels that reach thousands of customers in Brazil and worldwide. We continue to grow and bet on the social and economic development of the country.

Wood for the world
We are among the largest exporters in Brazil. Our products meet the highest international quality standards, being approved with several certifications for industries in the most diverse sectors. All this with deep know-how of specific global requirements and logistical agility with the strategic location of our units.
Our Path
From the cultivation of our land, a commitment to environmentally sustainable and socially responsible management has grown. There are more than 70 years seeking and developing new applications with our wood in a versatile and renewable way, 100% from forest crops.
1950
We were born in strong roots
Our foundation, in 1952, was marked by great challenges: our two factories in Paraná were destroyed by independent fires in the year of its opening. Perseverance and the certainty of cultivating sustainable business did not allow us to give up, we kept on investing in wood and reaping its fruits ever since. The resilience of our founder Bernardo von Muller Berneck is part of our essence.
1960
Wood for the world
Modernizing our technologies and expanding our business, we already had 7 units producing turned blades for the production of plywood. In 1966 our corporate identity took shape, revealing the essence of the company: from the log to the turned blade, press and the plywood produced and marketed, from Brazil to the world, because at this time we began to export.
1970
The news worked
With entrepreneurial spirit and confidence, we invest in new manufacturing units, opening the doors of new factories in Curitiba (PR), Vilhena (RO) and Brasnorte (MT). We continue to expand our portfolio with cut blades of tropical wood and decorative plywood. At the age of 26, Gilson Mueller Berneck assumed the presidency of the group and continues to guide our success to this day, as president of the Advisory Board.
1980
The brand of the wood
Maintaining the pace of development, we reached 11 industrial units in 5 Brazilian states. In the 1980s, we started our first line of panels reconstituted from Pinus forest crops - the beginning of our turn in the product line. Seeking modernity, we went through a process of developing a new visual identity. This is how the phrase "the brand of the wood" was born, which communicates our essence to this day.
1990
New forces and new horizons
To follow the growth in reconstituted panels and sawn wood from Pinus forest crops, we joined the Bozzano Simonsen group, which allowed us to strongly expand the forest base. We changed our corporate name from Berneck & Cia to Berneck Aglomerados S.A.
2000
Half a Century of success
On January 2, 2002 we celebrated our Golden Jubilee, a result of industrial competence, product quality, good relationship with the market and respect for the nature we have carried since our foundation. Years later, we bought our share in the Bozzano Simonsen group – which over the 12 years of partnership has allowed our development with collaboration and harmony. Another important milestone was the inauguration of our administrative center in Araucária (PR) in 2004.
2010
The most modern in Latin America
Our 60 years of foundation were marked by the inauguration of a new industrial complex in Curitibanos (SC). With technology, thermal power plant for cogeneration and a new sawmill, our unit was considered the most modern in Latin America. We completed the decade with 10 production lines, more than 2,500 employees, 3 industrial units, about 90,000 hectares of forest cultivation and producing more than 2,400,000 m³ of wood products per year.
2020
Large expansion bet
Completing 70 years of history, BERNECK® was announced for the sixth year as the champion company in the Construction Materials and Decoration sector of the Valor 1000 Award. The big bet of 2022 is the inauguration of the new factory in Lages (SC), generating more than 600 direct and 1,500 indirect jobs and an increase of 1,020,000 m³ in our production capacity.
